Happy Riding, American Trucks

Welcome to another F&E tip by
Camaion Vaytoi

Monster Truck racing is a strange phenomenon and many find
it hard to understand its appeal. However, when you find
yourself staring at a truck you are actually staring at an
a genuine symbol of American.

However, trucks did not originate in the USA. 19th century
America was a very different place than it is today with a
highly developed economy and world leader status. British
and German Empires held that position but it was the
Germans that came up with the truck.

Back in 1985 two very different types of trucks competed
for attention. One, driven on petrol, the other was a
steam truck... yes really, a truck driven on coal. The
steam trucks had many supporters and in fact they were
manufactured right up until the second world war.

It was also a German, Benz (of Mercedes Benz of course)
that brought in diesel as a fuel - the fuel made economic
sense being cheaper and making the engines last longer.
These improved trucks came in 1924.

Jeeps from the US and their 4WD truck cousins, also US
built, worked very well during World War Two, and marked
the beginning of US dominance in the big truck world.

During the fifties tractors were made that tilted and the
big trucks we see now began to make their mark. They moved
essentials the length and breadth of the country. These
huge vehicles are certainly iconic and have been made the
star of innumerable songs and movies.

Domestic-sized trucks have also undergone a seismic shift
over the years. Not only are pick up style trucks very
popular (and powerful, comfortable and fast), but family
vehicles have been moving nearer to trucks for years. In
fact many SUV are more truck than family sedan.

The sheer size of some of these truck derivatives has meant
that they have become a symbol of political divisions in
the United States. It used to be a division between urban
dwellers and pickup driving country dwellers, but this has
shifted. Now there are divisions between people who want to
see a move towards ecologically friendly cars and those who
want to protect their families in ever-bigger automobiles.

But in the minds of many, the USA will always be associated
with big cars more than any other country. It also
explains why there is always a huge crows watching the
proud owners of these huge vehicles strut their stuff at
the Monster Truck racing venue.

Types of Watches

Welcome back !

The watch is a fantastic invention of science. Our whole
world is dominated by this small electronic gadget. Today,
we will discuss various categories of watches. We can
divide it into twelve categories, analog watch, digital
watch with "LCD" and "LED", quartz watch, mechanical watch,
automatic watch, moon watch, chronograph watch, chronometer
watch, diving watch, day/date watch, pocket watches and
specialty watches.

The analog is a very common watch possessed by everybody.
In some of them they have a second hand. The digital watch
shows time in numbers. Further it is divided into two more
types. The "LCD" watch consists of a liquid crystal display
to show the time. The colors of numbers are by and large
gray or black on a lighter backdrop. The "LED" watch face
consists of a light emitting diode to show the time. It also
shows time. Its background color of numbers is red.

These days the quartz watch is used commonly. It is operated
by a battery. This watch also shows time. A mechanical
watch functions on the basis of a string of gears. These
gears get their power from a spiral. The automatic watch
looks like an analog watch. The design of this watch is made
to wind using the movement of your wrist. The moon watch has
a second dial that revolve at the rear of the customary
dial. This dial indicates the various stages of the moon or
the sun accordingly.

A chronograph watch has a stop watch function; this
function is not automatic but is started and stopped by
the user by means of pressing a button. Some people
confuse the chronometer with the chronograph. They are not
the same, the chronometer is a timepiece that is held to
the exacting standards of time set by an institution in
Switzerland. The day/date watch has a small section on the
dial that indicates the day and date.

Customarily, a pocket watch is affixed with a chain
approximately thirteen inches long by a fastener known as a
"Watch Fob".A pocket watch without cover over the crystal is
known as "railroad" used by rail men.A watch with cover over
the crystal is known as hunting case. A watch that has a
conventional crystal on the front and the back can be viewed
all the way through the cover thru to the back.

A diving watch is considered to be a water proof watch.
They are usually classified as water resistant to a depth
in meters. True divers watches are resistant to a depth of
300 meters or more. They have a screw down circlet to make
an efficient seal. Its usually has functions help the
diver, like diving depth, air usage and time underwater.

Other types of watches are specialty watches. some
examples available in the market today include pendant,
brooch and ring watches. It is interesting to note that
pendant watches are occasionally designed so they hang
in an upside down position so it can be read more easily
by the person wearing it.

How To Shop for Collectible Figurines

Welcome back !

Precious Moments collectible figurines are among the most
popular in the world. Doe-eyed boys and girls made in
pastel ceramics adorn the shelves, dressers, and display
areas of countless homes. There are numerous types and
styles of figurines that people can buy to build a personal
collection in addition to the dolls and bears that so many
shoppers enjoy.

When shopping for your favorites, check to be sure that the
item is genuine. Copycat manufacturers abound, much to a
shopper~s chagrin, so look at the signature label and sales
tag to see if you are purchasing the collectible that
you~re after. If in doubt, ask the sales associate for
assistance. Examine it carefully for cracks, stains, or
other possible impurities that could make the piece
ineligible for return if you find the problem after getting
it home.

Try to shop on a sale day. Often, there are special events
advertised in the newspaper or on television to let
consumers know that these special products will be
available at reduced cost for a limited amount of time.
Shopping these events can save you money while maintaining
the high standard of quality that you are searching for. If
a sale has not been advertised recently, you can check
with your favorite stores to see if they know whether one
will be coming up.

Another option may be to contact the manufacturer directly.
You can go to their website or write a letter if you prefer.
A telephone call to the toll-free number (if one is
available) is another way to inquire about upcoming
promotions or sales events as well as possible discounts.
You can always check Ebay or Amazon as well if you don~t
mind buying used. This may not matter with collectible
items, if you are planning to hold on to the item with a
view to eventually selling the pieces.

To get some ideas for starting a collection, visit
specialty shops or ask a few friends or relatives for
suggestions. You may prefer to do some online browsing by
searching for ~collectibles~ and (add a subject word) to
find items of personal interest. Then find a safe,
attractive storage or display area for your new items.
Continue to add pieces as funding becomes available. Over
time, you will be able to enjoy the variance and value of
your collection before selling it or passing it along to
someone else who will enjoy it as much as you have.

Super Psychic Children ~ The Beginning of the End

Welcome back!

Let~s discuss the existence of ~Super Psychic Children~.
There has been a real focus in the past few decades on
children who have been deemed to possess amazing psychic
abilities, they~ve been plastered all over the news so you
must of heard of them unless you~ve been asleep for the
duration. These aren~t your standard psychics, these are
powers that are way more far reaching than we have ever
experienced before throughout time. There are arguments
for and against whether they do actually have powers but
these children are starting to appear all over the world
and some statistics count that 100,000 of them exist.

The first super psychic child was discovered in China in
1974 when a small boy said that he had vision through his
ears. You could completely black out his eyes with a
blindfold and his ears with be able to see, in minute
detail anything you held close to them. He could recite a
page from a book that you held up without having to stop
and think once, almost as though he could see it. It was
then that other youngsters in China came forward claiming
to possess similar powers. It wasn~t just being able to
see with their ears but their nose, mouth and any other
body parts you care to think of. When they were examined
they all passed tests with no mistakes whatsoever.

The Chinese government stepped in and took these children
away to rigorously examine their psychic abilities when
their number reached near to one hundred thousand. At this
point there wasn~t just the ability to see but other such
amazing psychic talents as being able to get a pill out of
a medicine pot without touching it and then swapping this
with a coin that was on the table, again without
physically touching any item.

Soon, these children were popping up in other nations,
such as in the case of Mexico, which was made public not
long after China~s announcement that it possessed children
of this nature. Their government, by the way, could find
no flaw in any of their testing ~ regardless of their
abilities ~ and eventually opened training schools that
were designed specifically for this group. As new
children are identified as being gifted in this area,
they~re sent to these facilities.

There are lots of other incidents that have illustrated
the power of ~Super Psychic Children~. They have made
hundreds of roses come into full bloom whilst other people
are clutching them; pages of books have been pulled out,
scrunched up and hidden under someone~s armpit and they
can still recite it word for word; unhealthy people have
had their immune systems boosted and they have even
changed DNA. All in all, they can do anything just by
using their thought processes.

Of course, we could gather all of them together and use
them to solve all of the issues across the globe but who~s
to say what may happen next. If you do not believe that
they exist, hold that thought for a second and consider
this. If it is proven to be true that such ~Super Psychic
Children~ walk this earth and they can do literally
anything and everything with their minds, couldn~t this be
the ultimate weapon that could be used to destruct the
world as we know it? If someone catches onto this and
abuses these powers, this is potentially a real and
frightening thought.

Learning to Play & Purchasing Guitars

Welcome back !

There are over 25,000 listings for guitars on eBay! There
are 2500 hundred categories were you can find something
related to guitars on eBay and there are 100's of
collectibles categories involving guitars listed on eBay.
With so much choice it would seem that it would be
difficult to find what you are looking for on eBay, yet
thousands of items are bought and sold every day on eBay's
network concerning guitar collectibles, memorabilia,
instruments, music and much more.

Some of the more unusual items listed on eBay related to
guitars include lamps, Disneyrana, clocks, advertising,
lunchboxes, decorative collectibles and photographic
images. Indeed there are pieces of jewelery, bracelets,
watches, pins, brooches and many more items related to
guitars that are sold on eBay.

You can find all sorts of guitars on eBay including
traditional guitars right through to punk rock electric
guitars. You can buy electronic equipment, sheet music,
instruction manuals and lots of other helpful guitar
related items by merely placing a bid and watching the
auctions to see if you win. This allows you to buy a guitar
at a price you can afford.

Of course, once you have purchased your guitar, you~ll
probably want to learn how to play it in order to become a
massive Rock Star !
Of course, we all have to begin somewhere. You must learn
to crawl before you can walk! So, with this in mind, there
are many, many websites out there that will provide support
and online lessons so that you can begin learning how to
play your new guitar. One site even provides an online
chord finder for guitar players and lessons for the
beginner. These sites can also connect you with directories
filled with sheet music, books and all sorts of other
useful information.

There are also many local retailers and music stores who
also offer guitar lessons and sometimes it is a good idea
to learn from the experts. We all develop bad habits that
can be hard to break. Usually, the best approach is to take
a few introductory lessons and maybe rent a guitar for a
few weeks to be sure that you have the patience and musical
aptitude to really learn how to play. Many parents and
students have invested money into musical instruments only
to realize that they really don~t want to spend the effort
and time learning. For a lot of kids it is a passing fad
that they and their friends are interested in and such fads
can be expensive exercises for parents. So, it is wise to
do your research first.

Renting a guitar for a few weeks can be so solution to this
as it is less expensive and is a great alternative to
spending cash on a brand new guitar. At the end of the day,
learning to play the guitar is a wonderful and very
rewarding hobby.

How To Find Lost Coins

Welcome to Your Fun & Entertainment Tips

There are people who spend several years of their lives
collecting valuable and rare coins. They store them in
special books that are designed for this purpose, or they
keep them in a bank vault, taking them out only occasionally
to enjoy their prized possessions. The intention is that one
day the coins will be passed down to a family member or
perhaps sold for profit at auction.

However there is an easier way to search for lost coins for
gain. While they do not have the value of old or rare coins
that are recognized and prized by antique collectors, lost
coins nevertheless offer their own special challenge and
sometimes render an unexpected dividend when one turns out
to be a rare find.

Set aside a sturdy container for your soon-to-be-found
coins. Make sure it can~t tip, become misplaced, or get
broken by excited kids or a pet. Then start your own
treasure hunt as you find time. You can take a few minutes
each day, or you can save this hobby for a period of
several hours after work or over the weekend on occasion.
Don~t expect to find a lot all at once. Rather, be prepared
to put in the time that will gradually lead to a harvest
of riches.

You can get a metal detector device which will help you
locate loose coins in ditches, under cars, or in other
hard-to-reach places. Or simply rely on your eyes to
identify those gleaming metal circlets of potential wealth.
Start in your home. Check under the sofa and chair
cushions as well as under these large pieces. Look beneath
the dressers, on closet floors, in all the household
drawers, and inside the pockets of various clothing.

You can then expand your search. Check your car, including
including between and under the seats. Don~t forget to look
in the toy box, basement, and even the attic. Look under the
porch and on the patio, examining the cushions if you have
them there, as well. Keep an eye on the sidewalk or parking
areas of public places. You might find coins at the mall
or in any kind of community area or store. Of course, if
you see the owner drop a coin, be sure to hand it over.
Don~t allow yourself to spend the money you find. Instead,
place it in your container for this purpose and save it as
long as possible. There is an account of one man who saved
more than $2,000 over a twenty-year period by doing exactly
that.

Drawing and Sketching for Beginners

Many people will simply say they can~t draw. They
never could and they never will. Drawing is talent
you are either born with or you aren~t. However,
more and more people are realizing that with a few
basic techniques anyone can be drawing amazing
pictures that they never thought possible. Whether
you~re in elementary school, middle-aged, or
retired, learning how to draw and sketch is a great
way to spend some free time.

The first thing you need before you learn how to
draw is some drawing and sketching supplies. For
your first few drawings you can use some old scrap
paper and any pencil you have lying around at
home. However, proper supplies are a must if you
are going to improve. You will need a number 2
pencil, several other quality grade pencils, an eraser,
and a drawing pad. A number 2 pencil is especially
important since it is the best choice for shading and
other pencils may not be dark enough. These
supplies can be found at any art supply store.

Drawing lessons are a great way to get started and
learn a few basic techniques. Most community
centers offer courses as short as one day, but the
longer you can take the better. These classes are
typically taught by a drawing and sketching artist
who is able to explain concepts clearly and help you
learn quickly. Your pictures will start to take shape
and you won~t believe the drawings you can
produce in a few short classes.

Finding subjects for your drawings may seem
difficult when you are first beginning to learn how
to draw. Don~t use live subjects since you~ll need
plenty of time to get your dimensions right and you
don~t want to feel rushed. Also stay away from
flash photography pictures. These pictures lack
depth and can seem very flat which makes it very
difficult to draw a realistic picture. If you can~t
seem to find any good pictures check at your local
library for a drawing and sketching book since most
will have some samples for you to use.

If you have questions about drawing or sketching,
or would like to speak with other beginners, try
joining a chat room or message board. There are
many groups on the Internet that are passionate
about learning how to draw and sketch. Many
boards also have resident experts who can answer
any questions that you may have. There are also
websites that offer free newsletters full of helpful
tips and tricks.

Anyone can learn how to draw and sketch, no
matter what your age is. It will take some time, so
be patient, but you~ll be surprised at how quickly
your skills will improve. Even those of us who
have sworn we could never draw more than a stick
man can be drawing realistic pictures that we are
pleased to show our friends and family.

Snowboard Safely and Still Have Fun!

Wow! It seems the slopes are crawling with more and more
snowboarders every winter. Riders come in all shapes,
sizes, and ages. More of us are trying snowboarding as
an addition, or alternative, to skiing.

Unfortunately, we also have a bad reputation for being
unsafe to ourselves and others. We get that reputation
by failing to watch out for people and objects that
share the slopes with us, or by breaking rules that
were put in place for everyone's safety. Be considerate
and be observant so that you can be a part of changing
that reputation we have.

If you're a newbie or you don't ride often, save the
fancy stuff for the guys in the Warren Miller flicks!
Don't attempt anything you aren't physically or
technically well-prepared for without appropriate
guidance.

Be wary of avalanches if there have been recent, drastic
changes in temperature. Look for evidence of loose snow
on steep slopes that receive extreme sunshine and shade
at different times of day. Never try to outrun an
avalanche. Ride to the side of the slope as quickly as
possible.

Hypothermia and frostbite aren't cool, and they're
completely avoidable. Don't wear your skating baggies
on the slopes. Invest in some good quality Gore-Tex,
Cool-Max, and old-fashioned wool clothing. They breathe,
wick away moisture, and can keep wind and melted snow
away from your skin. Put your hat on like your mama told
you, too!

Your feet are especially vulnerable to the cold because
they're so far away from your heart and so close to the
snow. Keep them warm by wearing socks and boots that
breathe and insulate. Some snow is going to get inside
your boots, so use socks of polypro or wool that will
keep your feet warm even if they're soaked. Blisters
or numbness are a signal to take a break and go inside
for some foot care.

Sunblock and sunglasses aren't just for the beach. At
high altitudes, the sun can do a wicked number on your
skin and eyes! Protect them.

Water is the only beverage you should consume while you're
on the slopes. Anything else will accelerate dehydration
and, in the case of "adult-beverages," impair your
coordination, reflexes, and judgment.

We take care to choose a great snowboard for great riding.
Take equal care to practice common-sense health and
safety precautions to assure a long riding life.

Music - Understanding The Music Industry

How To Turn A Profit In Music

==============================

The music industry is one of the most multi-cultural and
diverse industries in the world. Musicians flock to and
appreciate this quality.

It is the type of work where you don~t sit in an office
nine to five and punch a clock. You might be hard
at work in a club playing your heart out to a wild
crowd of excited fans.

Just as your lifestyle is different in the music industry
and it is one that suits your creative soul, the way that
money is handled and how you get paid is totally different
from a corporate job.

We all have needs. We all need money for food and shelter,
and other various essentials. Musicians must know how
their salaries work so that they can maximize profits.

To get started understanding the money trail in the music
industry, you have to become familiar with two terms,
recoupment and royalties

RECOUPMENT DEFINED

Recoupment is a loan from a record label or company. These
funds are to pay for expenses necessary in creating an
album or playing tour dates.

Make no mistake though, recoupment is a loan. You may feel
you just fell into a volcano of cash when that recoupment
money comes in but every bit of that money will be required
of you sometime in the future.

Keep track of what you spend and make fund management a
key. Don't blow this money, because you'll regret it when
it must all be paid back later.

ROYALTIES

Royalties are commissions - percentages of each sale.
There are four main types of royalties, and each one may be
a different rate or arrangement in your contract:

1. Mechanical royalties are percentages that you receive
when another artist plays a cover of your song.

2. If you song is used in a movie or on TV, you'll receive
synchronization royalties.

3.~The Print Royalty is the amount you get when the
printed version of your music is sold in a music
store.

4. When you play a concert or a song of yours is on the
radio, you'll receive a performance royalty.

So how do I get my paycheck?

Well, record companies have systems and analysts in place
to track all these figures and get you the money you
earned. You also have an agent who can offer direction in
the dispersion of these funds.

There are also agencies called Performing Rights
Organizations or PRO that monitor the industry to make sure
the money is being handled honestly and correctly.

It's always a good idea to do a little research yourself.
Some record labels provide better royalty programs than
others, so get to know your options. This industry
provides the creative freedom we all love, but you might
as well get paid for it, too!

Having Fun With Digital Photography

Digital photography has opened new worlds to people who
never would dare to experiment with traditional film. Freed
from the expense of film and developing, photographers can
experiment with camera angles and lighting, taking multiple
shots to ensure getting just the right photo.

When you add in the ease of uploading pictures from your
camera to your printer or computer, new software that lets
you go from shoot to upload to email with just a few clicks
of a mouse, and the wealth of photo and graphics
manipulation programs available, the possibilities for fun
with digital photography are nearly endless.

8. Use your face as your buddy icon. Something the creators
of digital photography never envisioned - turn a photo into
your own personalized icon. Your IM friends will always know
who they're chatting with when your picture is right on the
screen.

Want a more professional job? There are a number of web
sites where you can upload your photos and artwork to be
professionally printed on a wide variety of merchandise.
If you're really serious about digital photography, you can
even open your own storefront on CafePress.com.

When you take your kids to the park for the day, pack your
digital camera. Get photos of your toddlers on the slides,
the swings, feeding the ducks and having a ball. When you
get home, upload the photographs to your computer and put
together a slideshow of your day at the park for grandma
and grandpa, or to share with daddy at the office.

Remember the old carnival booths where you could put your
face on the perfect body? It's easier than ever with
digital photography. A little cut and paste can put your
face on a Body by Jake or your cat. You can be whoever you
want to be with a little creative photo manipulation.

4. Take Aunt Edna on vacation with you. Digital photography
might not help your picture taking skills, but it sure can
help you share your photos faster. If you've got access to
the web, you can have your cruise photos online before you
get off the ship.

See the world through the eyes of a child. Let your kids in
on the photography fun. Hand the camera over at the beach
or the park and let them snap away at anything they want.
You may be surprised at their eye for artistic composition.

Want to share your photos? There are dozens of sites where
you can upload your photos and share the url with family
and friends. The newest digital cameras make it a matter of
a few mouseclicks to email your favorite photorgraphs to
grandma and grandpa.

A little imagination and creativity can make your
adventures in digital photography fun and profitable. What
are you waiting for? Grab your camera and start playing.

Movies a source of entertainment

Movies are a big part of our lives. You go to the theater,
turn on your TV, or even talk to your friend you can almost
guarantee that you will hear about the newest movie. There
is always something new to watch. There are new movies
coming out so often that many of them don~t make it into the
theaters and if they do then they only play for a few weeks,
and at certain times.

Movie Certification

Movies are given a certification on the basis of their
content. This certification decides the kind of audience
that can watch this movie. For example, a movie having a
G or a PG certification is suitable for the entire
family, young and old alike. However, there are other
age-based certifications such as PG13, MA17 and R, which
are not suitable for little children to watch.

G and PG Ratings

These are generic certifications which are given to those
movies whose content is suitable or all universally,
providing wholesome entertainment. For example, cartoon
and animated movies.

PG13 Rating

Next, is the PG13 certification, which is suitable for
all those who are above 13 years of age or rather all the
teenagers and above. This certification is generally
given to sweet romantic movies, comedies and even some
horror movies.

MA17

These are the movies that can be viewed by ages 17 and
beyond. They include similar movies to the PG13 category.
May include horror movies that are more scary than the
ones included in the PG13 category.

R Certification

No one under 18 are allowed to watch these movies. These are
the movies that are really not meant to be to be seen by
little children or even teens. These are the movies that may
contain scenes that are inappropriate for younger audiences.

For making a selection about which movie to watch or not,
besides knowing the rating of the movie, one must also
know who the producer, director, script writer and the
actors in the movie are. All these parameters will give a
strong indication of the kind of movie that will be.

Writing the Script

There is most definitely more than one person involved in
writing a movie script. It takes months, even years to write
a movie script. The writers have to take time and form
characters for each of the actors who are going to play the
characters.

Casting

After the characters of a movie story have been finalized
and the script been written as well, the producers have
to look for actors and actresses who will be able to
portray those characters well.

Final Thoughts

After the script is written and directed, it is finally
ready to be screened in theatres. But, all movies don~t
get released in theaters. If a movies gets the chance to
be released in theaters then a 'party' for the cast is
arranged. Those movies that are not released in theaters
are finally released on television.

Kids and Scooters

Kids of all ages love to play with scooters. These
elongated stems on wheels with vertical handlebars propel
boys and girls across parking lots, down driveways, and
along sidewalks for a variety of movement sensations.

The scooter has handlebars similar to a bicycle and an
upright front a little bit like a bicycle. But instead of a
seat, a scooter has a thin flat footboard close to the
ground much like a skateboard. The rider puts one foot on
the footboard and holds the handlebars for steering and
balance. The other foot is used to propel the scooter with
a push of the foot that is on the ground. The scooter then
moves along for some distance before slowing down. Then it
needs another kick on the ground to keep going. The rider
controls how fast the scooter moves by how many times and
how hard they push off the ground with their foot.

Scooters come in a wide variety of materials, either
plastic, metal, or wood and, of course, in a variety of
sizes, colors and styles as well. Some companies even call
their 4-wheel motorized chairs for disabled people scooters
to make them sound like more fun, but these devices don't
come close to being a traditional scooter. You can buy a
scooter at many types of retail outlets including toy
stores, discount stores and bicycle shops or online.
You can find a used scooter online through Amazon or Ebay.

Since a scooter isn't sized to arm and leg length like a
bicycle, several kids can share the same scooter as long
as they are willing to take turns. Or a child can play
happily alone on the scooter. Kids can have scooter races
and there are streamlined scooters that make good racers.
Kids can ride their scooter about anywhere a bicycle is
allowed. Be sure to check the local regulations for whether
or not scooters are allowed in the parks in your
neighborhood.

Some kids like to decorate their scooter with streamers
on the handle bars and decals or painted designs on the
footboard. Kids love to feel that their scooter is special
and different from the one like every other kid in the
neighborhood has.

While scooters can have two, three, or four wheels, the
most popular scooters today are shiny aluminum models with
a thin footboard. These razor scooters as they are called
are faster than a traditional scooter and should be ridden
only by older children who are coordinated enough to steer
it at fast speeds. Younger children should have simpler and
slower plastic models that are more appropriate for their
skill level.

Wheels and kids just seem to go together, as evidenced in
classic, ongoing toys like bicycles, skateboards, and
scooters. If you are trying to decide what to get a
favorite niece or nephew as a gift, consider giving a
scooter, along with the proper safety equipment of crash
helmet and kneepads, for which the parents will thank you.

How Psychics Tell You What You Want To Hear

I get the sense that you are artistic... something to do
with art -- no, no, music. You write your own songs, don't
you? But this isn't your occupation - you get paid to do
something else, yes? You don't resent this, though. In fact
I'd say you're one of those lucky people who truly likes
your job. There's someone at the office.. mm... does the
letter M mean anything to you?

For starters, sharpen your observational skills. Become a
Sherlock Holmes. Notice things like posture, expression and
tone of voice and how to interpret them. There are some
obvious, universal 'tells' that give away everything from
doubt to fear to excitement. Most people have no idea how
clearly they telegraph their emotions with the tiniest
changes of facial expressions.

You're halfway right. Most 'psychics' who engage in fortune
telling for fun or profit do have a talent or ability, but
it's neither magic nor uncommon. What they have is a learned
ability to read the tiny nuances in people's facial
expressions, voices and body language, and to put that
information together with other verbal and non-verbal cues
that you give off while they are reading for you.

Before you find yourself convinced that a telephone or web
psychic has magical abilities, think back over what exactly
was said and communicated during a 'reading'. Here are some
common tells that "psychic readers" use to tell you things
they couldn't possibly know.

Sherlock Holmes often made statements that astounded his
listeners, but were simply the result of his coordinating
the physical cues that he observed about his subjects.
Material cues like wedding rings, engagement rings, or the
mark left behind by one can tell a psychic reader a lot
about you. Things like the way you dress or the makeup and
jewelry that you wear are also clues that form an overall
impression of you that the reader will feed back to you to
impress you with their 'magical' abilities and insight.

3. Keep your statements vague enough to backpedal if the
reaction you get is puzzlement. A blank look to the
statement about an opportunity might lead you to add, 'you
may not even recognize it at first, or it may not have been
offered to you yet. You should keep your eye out for a
chance to prove yourself.' That's a statement that's
impossible to disprove. Everyone is offered opportunties all
the time. The next time your friend is offered one, they'll
remember your prediction.

There are other obvious cues in your tone of voice, your
expression, your posture - nearly everything that you do or
say can help the 'psychic' make predictions and statements
based on things you tell him or her yourself - without even
realizing it.

5. Use your words to influence perceptions. Take the
statement 'Someone in your workplace is interested in you'.
Once you put that statement out there, the person you're
reading for will find it nearly impossible to keep from
wondering which person it might be. Viewed through the
perception that someone 'likes' them, chances are good that
they WILL come up with a possible 'secret admirer'.

Move from the general to the specific. Once a 'psychic' has
found a general area that provokes a reaction from you, he
or she will start narrowing the focus. They may start
reeling off a list of 'authority figures' - a parent, a
boss, a police officer, maybe even your doctor - until they
provoke another reaction.

That's really about all there is to most of the psychics
that you'll run into on the phone and internet pay-per-
minute services. A heightened sense of obersvation and
perception, a few little tricks to draw out information, and
the chutzpah to pass it off as some sort of arcane secret
technique. Here's your introduction to:
Solving the palmistry riddle!

Making Your Own Music: Songwriting Basics

Whether you are a teenager or are well into your golden
years, it is never too late to explore your creative
side, especially if you are interested in music.
Songwriting is an excellent way to express your thoughts
and feelings and to communicate them to your friends and
family, even if you have no aspirations of musical fame
or fortune. If you are interested in selling or
performing your songs, however, you should be aware that
it is a hard road and that very few songwriters achieve
great fame or fortune, and especially not instantly.
Nonetheless, if you have realistic expectations, you
will find that writing music is a worthwhile experience
whether it is a hobby or a profession.

People write songs in many different ways. Some writers
compose the music first, while others first write the
words. For some, the words and the melody come to them
at the same time, while others write the melodies first
and write the words last. No matter what order you are
comfortable with, you will eventually have to decide
what the song is about. There are a variety of
different types of songs ranging from songs that tell
fictional stories to songs that communicate deep
personal feelings.

If you decide to write a story song, a good first
exercise is to write about a news story or about
something you~ve read in the newspaper. That way you
can use your first song to hone your word choosing
skills without the pressure of coming up with your own
story. However, if you already have an idea for a story
to tell, you can write it out in poem form and try to
make appropriate rhymes and structures that help
communicate what happens in the song.

Because music is so expressive, many songwriters use
their compositions to express how they feel, whether it
be about a person or a situation or even geographic
location. Writing these types of songs can be highly
personal, so every person does it differently. When you
have a strong feeling about something, write it down in
a notebook and come back to it later. You might think
of a good line that expresses an emotion really well,
and if you remember it you might be able to build an
entire song around it. Having quiet time to think is
always helpful when you are trying to write a song.

There is not only one way to write a song because it
actually depends on your musical ability and your focus.
When you write just to communicate something, you do not
need more than a few carefully selected guitar chords for
the accompaniment. But if, on the contrary, you are an
instrumental expert, you will see writing music from a
different perspective. A lot of people think first of a
musical idea and then play it a thousand times until they
finally think of a melody. But in many other cases,
songwriters create whole pieces, with the melody included,
and they do not know what the song is going to be about.
Finally, when the melody is complete, the writer will sit
down and relax to start thinking about lyrics that can go
with the feeling behind the music.

In the end, when everything is put together, words and
music, you may feel the necessity to perform your new
song. An advice: it is always convenient to play first for
family and friends before trying to play in front of a
multitude. Only after you feel comfortable enough playing
your song in front of the ones you know, you should start
thinking about going to an open mic night at a local bar
or coffeehouse. In these kinds of places, songwriters have
the opportunity to play one or more of their songs to an
appreciative and considerate audience. Performers can talk
about their craft with different writers and this is a
way to learn more about the writing process.

Radio by Satellite

Satellite radio has quite literally been a god send to
people who live or travel regularly in remote locations, or
even for people who are required to travel long distances.
Static-free reception can now be experienced and enjoyed
by listeners who have a satellite radio even if they are
in the remotest of locations.

As soon as you find a good station, you will drive out of
the area and it will become static and then fade away
completely. It was a pain to travel from one area to
another constantly fiddling with the tuner to get a working
station. And it seems that as soon as you find one that
picks up properly, you have driven out of the area and
can~t pick it up anymore. But now technology has advanced
and with satellite radio, you can now pick up any station
from the satellite.

Regular radio signals are only able to travel about 30-40
miles past their transmitters. Once you have passed this
point, the signal will get weaker and weaker and you will
hear static until eventually, the signal disappears
completely. But technology has come a long way and now
with satellite radio, you can hear clearly since the waves
are coming from a satellite from space. You will be able to
hear your favorite music station wherever you go. If you
are listening to national radio stations, you can hear no
matter where in the country you go.

What you might not know is that automobile manufacturers
have been installing satellite receivers in cars for many
years now. This is helping technology advance and makes it
easier for you to keep up with the changing trends. In
fact, the FCC has given out around $80 million dollars to
different companies that are researching this technology.
All of this research means better radio for you.

These three satellite radio companies have conducted
completely different research programs and as a result
naturally are now offering different products to the market.
As a result there is more then likely going to be a 'VHS
versus Beta' type battle between the companies as the
technology progresses. Two of the companies, XM Radio and
Worldspace have made a formal agreement to share new
technological developments with the other party and to make
every effort to work collaboratively to develop and design
further innovations in this expanding communications field.
This partnership can only be a good thing for consumers,
particularly consumers who frequent remote locations on a
regular basis and who need to communicate with the outside
world when they do so.

Capture the Moment with Your Camera

Cameras come in many different types and are even more
varying since the advent of the digital camera. Prior to
these new types, there were two main types that most people
would be familiar with, the first one being the 35
millimeter. This camera was (and in some cases still is) the
choice of professional photographers everywhere. The photo
is excellent with these cameras and they are easy to deal
with and use.

The negative aspect of this kind of camera is that, unless
you have your own darkroom, you must use the services of a
professional lab. For an amateur wanting to use film, the
110 mm cameras is cheaper and easy enough for anyone to use.
There are even disposable, one-use types. The quality of the
photos is not quite as good, but it is excellent for a
beginner who wants to take a few snaps or for situations
where you wouldn't want to risk using a more expensive
camera.

Time to Go Digital?

Once with the development of technology, this domain has
made incredible progress. Digital cameras are now more and
more complicated. They are now equipped with card memories
in which, depending on their capacity, you can stores a lot
of photos. You can take pictures in different sizes and even
adjust the level of details, textures or shadows.

While new better cameras appeared on the market, the old
ones disappeared or their prices went down to a reasonable
level. Now you can easily and inexpensively buy a digital
camera with quality comparable or even better than the old
35 millimeter ones. Some pros believe that film cameras will
be almost obsolete within 10 years.

Digital camera technology has made major progress fast. If
you want to print your pictures you don't even need your own
printer as many shops offer this service, including
Wal-Mart stores. Many smaller stores also feature kiosks
which let you immediately print your photos

Either way, this is an effective solution if you don't have
your own printer. Nowadays the benefits to digital photos
tend to outweigh the disadvantages. One key advantage is the
ability to share these photos quickly and easily with family
and friends worldwide via email and the World Wide Web.

Hints and Advice for Purchasing Guitars

Hints and Advice for Purchasing Guitars

Classical and rock music each require a different
guitar to play them. This means that if you~re going
to be buying a guitar for the very first time that
you~re going to need to know what music you~re
going to be playing and what features you want
from your instrument. There are some basic things
that you should be looking for as you head out to
buy your first guitar.

The first thing that you~ll need to consider when
you~re looking at guitars is how much money you
have to spend. If you have a limited budget you
may want to buy a used instrument. There are some
benefits to buying used, such as the saving of
money, but there are some disadvantages as well,
since you~ll be using an instrument that may have
some flaws. For those people who don~t have to
keep an eye on their budget the new guitar will
provide them with all the features that they need to
start playing.

You may find that guitars with a particular brand
name are more expensive than other guitars that
have the same features. The reason for this is that
the manufacturer is riding on the coat tails of any
well known musician who has played their guitar,
hiking up the price of the instrument to reflect this
stardom.

Decide ahead of time where you're going to be
shopping for your guitar and do your research. Find
out what types of guitars the store sells, whether or
not they sell used, and what their reputation is
among the music world. You want to buy your
guitar from people who know what they're talking
about when it comes to guitars.

It~s important that you evaluate more than one or
two guitars before you narrow down your choice.
You want to be absolutely certain that you get the
sound that you~re looking for in your first
instrument. Take along an experienced guitar
player who can play a tune for you so that you can
hear the sound without having to play it yourself.
Someone who has already made their own guitar
purchase may be better able to help you ask the
right questions.

If you~re considering buying that used guitar make
sure that you look at the value of the instrument.
Just because a guitar has a few nicks and scratches,
doesn~t mean that it won~t be playable. On the other
hand, a guitar that looks great may not always have
the sound that you~re looking for in your first
instrument. In most cases used guitars simply need
to have a few new strings and some fine tuning to
make them sound great again. You~ll save a great
deal of money by buying used for your first guitar.

Electric guitars are little different to shop for than
acoustic guitars. Make sure that the store plugs in
the amplifier so that you can hear the guitar in
action. If you~re buying an electric guitar you~ll
definitely want to seek the advice of someone who
is familiar with the instrument until you start to
understand what you should be looking for in sound
and performance.

When you know what you~re looking for in a guitar
you~ll have a better chance of finding what you
want, including price and type of guitar.

Astronomy and Planetariums

Astronomy and Planetariums

The astronomy is a fascinating science, but its study
entangles vast mathematical knowledge and a considerable
amount of time and patience. But many brilliant scientists
take care of all that, while for the rest of us, astronomy
is just an elevated word for a very pleasant activity:
looking at the stars. Why the stars have fascinated us
since the beginning of time is almost impossible to
explain, but the sight of a beautiful sky on a clear, warm
summer night is likely to provide the best explanation
possible ~ and all that without a single word.

This side of astronomy is a very popular hobby, sometimes
one does not even take it seriously, the fellow simply
happens to enjoy searching the night sky hoping the Libra
or Orion will rise. However, even someone who knows almost
nothing about astronomy could specify the fact that
catching sight of a particular star or constellation is not
such a simple task, as every star rises at a certain hour,
moreover, this hour modifies daily. To give an example, the
Orion constellation rises early in the evening in December
and January, while in July and August it can only be seen
around four o'clock in the morning. For those who enjoy
this part of astronomy the planetariums are just what the
doctor ordered.

Despite the fact that there is no match for the genuine
thing, planetariums can give one an evening to remember.
The occasions for going to the planetarium vary from a nice
family evening (for a loving parent) to the most original
date possible (for a hopeless romantic).

Children are one group likely to be interested in
astronomy. Children may find the stars neat because they
are so far away or because they form neat groups. Visiting
the planetarium, then, can be a great treat for children
because they feel closer to the sky. Even children not
already interested in the stars, a visit to the planetarium
can be a great way to spark their interest.

As for the ones still looking for that special person,
there are few places more impressive and original to go on
a date than the planetarium. It will certainly touch the
romantic string and make everything dream-like (but only
with a special person).

There's no need to wait until you meet a special person to
go to the planetarium. This visit can be great for a rainy
Saturday afternoon or a weekend when you're looking for
something neat to do. Planetarium visits are a way for the
novice star-watcher to get a close-up look, and for people
who may study the academic side to get a good look at what
they're studying.

So, if you star-watch but are growing bored from the same
angle or craning your neck, think about checking out your
planetarium. You may find that you enjoy this experience
just as much - or even more - that your star-gazing nights.
And then, you can come back again and again!

Party Games Ideas For Any Age

If you are planning a party for any age, party games are

a great way for people to get to know each other and get

the party going.  This is true for little children and

adults.  Party games can be as simple as a game of

charades which requires no props, or as complex as a

murder mystery game complete with costumes.

Some of the great games have been popular for years and

children still love them. Most of us remember pin the tail

on the donkey, musical chairs, and hide-and-seek. To make

it all the more fun, have some little prizes or bags of

treats on hand.

As children turn into teenagers, it can become more

difficult to find fun party games to keep them out of

trouble.  Board games like Cranium are great for groups

of teens and it lets everyone have a chance to play since

it requires various talents, everything from acting skills

to spelling.  Dance-offs are also a fun way for kids to

show off and have fun with their peers

Back in the 1970s board games for adults were very

popular at parties.  In the past several years a new

generation of adults are enjoying fun party board

games.  Many board games are great for large groups

and are a great way to get people chatting and laughing.

As mentioned before, a great new board game for adults

is Cranium.  Cranium is a fun and hilarious game that

combines several different varieties of games.  It

consists of word puzzles, charades, Pictionary, spelling,

and many other fun tasks that make this game perfect

for a diverse group of people.  Cranium is a guaranteed

icebreaker and everyone is sure to have a blast.

Drinking games are fun at some adult parties. There are a

number of them played with only cards or dice, but some

companies are re-introducing their best selling board games

from the 1960s and 1970s. To keep from being bored, look

for games than require more skill than just being able to

drink. If you choose to play any drinking games, have

designated drivers lined up or plan to house overnight

guests.

Poker has always been a favorite, but nowadays it's hotter

than ever. Recently poker competitions and those played by

celebrities are being shown on TV and are becoming popular

viewing fare. The favorite is Texas Hold ~Em and it's

actually pretty easy to learn. If you decide to place some

money bets, be sure you know what you~re doing so you won't

lose all your cash.

Games are the perfect way to break the ice and get

everyone talking.  This is true for any age.  Be sure to

have some fun games on hand for your next party.
